"Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful"- Jimi Hendrix

Our daring designers have decided to honor the greatest, most innovative, creative and all around bad-ass rock n roll guitarist Jimi Hendrix by (how else?) allowing him to grace Shirtcity's entire line of t-shirts and accessories.

We've got two different designs.  We have one specifically designed for darker shirts as well as another designer especially for our lighter colored articles.

Check out our entire collection of designs HERE.  Not only do we have The Legend but we also have Bob, Bill, Amy and even a Big Dick.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

42700

Happy 232nd birthday America!   Your citizens will celebrate your glorious birth by grilling meat , drinking cheap beer, and blowing things up .  I don't know about you but that sounds about as American as it gets.  The last few years have been rough but our country's enduring spirit is what has kept us the greatest nation on the planet.  Heck, if we can survive the 80s (as in the Reagan Era , not the Cleveland Era ) I firmly believe we can persevere over high gas prices, a horrible economy and a war that seems to be going nowhere.

Here's to you America!  May the next 230 years be just as exciting!

RIP George Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008)

Carlin

Rest in Peace Mr Carlin, you will be dearly missed.  You forever changed the face of comedy and opened new doors for those in your footsteps.

George Carlin, love him or hate him, was a modern day genius and one of the greatest comedians of all time.  While some may not have agreed with everything he said, the beauty of Carlin was that he didn't care.  He simply said what he thought needed to be said and most of the time he was the only one with the cojones do to so.  Most of the news coverage of Carlin's death has focused on his "Seven Words You Can't Say on Television" .  Rightly so.  The Supreme Court was involved and the routine proved how powerful comedy can be.  I can guarantees you that Mr Carlin is laughing right now as he watches the news reporters try to describe exactly what the seven words are.

I could write pages about Carlin's influence and my personal favorite routines of his but I will leave it up the pros.

Here is very small collection some of my favorite Carlin bits

Universal Lies

Zoom_3360

Everyone has told a little white lie before, some a lot less little than others.  Well, Shirtcity  believes in honesty so thats why we've rolled out a brand new design for the compulsive liars in the world.  Get the shirt and wear it proudly.  Just like me and my Captain Planet pajama's.

Fedora Hats Are So Hot Right Now

Zoom_es0196Zoom_es0195

We here at Shirtcity like to keep up with popular trends.  Our spectacular designers have rolled out a couple new designs for a little movie you might have heard of named Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The design on the left pays homage to one of the most recognizalbe theatrical scores in movie history.  After you hear it, you can't help but sing it because it's stuck in your head.  How do you sing a song with no lyrics?  Simple.  I call the "Da Da Method".  Try it yourself, it works.

The second design, Legindiana Jones, is for all of our Lego fans.  I'll let this video do the talking because, after watching it, I'm not really sure what to say.

Put down the mouse, Pick up a book

Zoom_es0193 3348

We are back this week with 2 brand new designs.  You can check them out above.

The first one hits close to home with me because I use Google Maps for just about everything I do in life.  Whether its to find the closest bank, restaurant reviews, public transit stations or playing around with the fun user created maps  (for some reason I started looking at Billy Joel's North American Tour itinerary last night) Google Maps is the first place I turn to.  Well, now, thanks to the wonderful designers at Shirtcity you can let the world know that you are indeed important enough to earn your own spot on Google Maps.

The second one preaches a good message albeit just a little ironic.  In a world filled with YouTube celebrities, and internet memes one can easily forget that the mind is a horrible thing to waste.  Think to yourself, "What was the last good book I read?".  If you can't answer it, then I suggest you go down to your local library or bookstore and pick up something, anything, and dive right into it.  Your brain will thank you.

And now, dear Shirtcity Blog readers, I will sign off with this....

Shirtcity gets LOST

Isurvivedocean815shirtcity

Strange things happen in the Shirtcity  office...Sometimes polar bears attack us, other times some sort of Smoke Monster  chases us around the building.  We think that there is a group of mysterious Others  living in the basement.  We even try to find how many combinations of 4 8 15 16 23 42  we can find in a given day.  Actually none of that happens (except for the numbers part), I am just too obsessed with Lost.

Lost has been scientifically proven to be the best hour on TV in the history of the universe and Shirtcity has decided to honor it by, how else, making some t-shirts !  Proudly display your Lost addiction by confirming that there were indeed some survivors of Oceanic 815 .  (Edit:  The design/picture above was made by our office in Spain where they spell the city that hosted the 2000 Olympics "Sidney".  I assure you that there is a correctly spelled English version on the way!)

We haven't forgotten about the other side of the Island though.  We've got the Flame Station  and the Swan Station of the evil Dharma Initiative covered as well.

I'll leave you with this Losties,  I think Charlie would be proud.
